Covid-19

Please find below our current advice for clients regarding COVID-19.

Please be advised, Jersey Village Vets surgeries will remain open for your animal welfare and medical needs. We would like to assure you that animal health and welfare will always be our first concern when attending to your animals, however in light of the recent advice from the Government of Jersey with regards to containing the spread of Coronavirus, we would ask if you could please adhere to the following:

Please can we remind all owners not to bring your pets to the surgery yourselves if you are self-isolating because of confirmed Covid-19 or because you have the relevant symptoms or recent travel history. Where possible in these instances, please nominate a friend/family member from outside your home to bring the animal to the practice. If your pet requires emergency treatment, please call the practice for further advice.

To enhance social distancing, you are welcome to park outside any of our surgeries if attending for an appointment and/or collecting medication and call the branch. (01534) 481811 Oakfarm opt.1, Ballantrae opt. 2, Sommet Vert opt. 3, Martin’s opt. 4

Please be advised, within our surgeries, we are cleaning and sanitising regularly throughout the day, to include all commonly touched surfaces.

Please wait in your car until your designated appointment time, if possible, to minimise the number of people in the waiting room.

We are extending appointment times to allow appropriate cleaning between consultations and to reduce waiting times.

We will ask you to attend appointments alone where possible. Please leave family members or friends in your car or at home, if appropriate.

We will keep staff presence during consultations to a minimum.

Current research has shown that animals cannot catch Covid-19, but it is worth being careful around animals that have been in a Covid positive or symptomatic household as they may spread the disease on their fur, similar to transfer by a door handle or other surfaces. For repeat prescriptions, when ready, we will phone you to advise when to collect and give you the option of paying over the phone to minimise staff/client interaction.

In the event that our staff have to visit your home on an urgent visit, please advise the vet if you are self-isolating whether you are symptomatic or not, so the correct protocols can be followed.

Please do not hesitate to phone us if you have any queries, and we will do our very best to help in treating your pet at this exceptional time.

The JVV Team.
